Description

As the North American headquarters for G-TEKT Corporation, Jefferson Industries actively participates in the Global Automotive Industry. We provide design and development for press dies and other tools necessary for automotive manufacturing. Our facilities support high-quality production and we aim to meet customer needs with flexibility and efficiency.

We are seeking a Production Assistant Manager for our Stamping Department to join the JIC team! Core hours are Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

Role:

Oversee Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Management activities in the Stamping Bays, including daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the Stamping Department and supervising assigned Coordinators.
  • Manage SQCDM activities, improve key areas, and support COP activities.
  • Assess production floor issues related to manpower, presses, dies, quality, productivity, associates, and safety.
  • Review and prioritize press, die, quality, and production issues.
  • Handle reporting such as Business Plans, inventories, and production metrics.
  • Coordinate activities across shifts and with weekend/shutdown work.
  • Ensure crane and forklift certification within 6 months.
  • Monitor safety practices, PPE usage, and proper handling procedures.
  • Manage cleanliness and organization of the work area, addressing safety concerns.
  • Ensure quality standards and work instructions are followed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership about daily issues and updates.
  • Oversee training, parts quality, and production efficiency.
  • Manage overtime, budget usage, and time sheets.
  • Monitor production schedules, die maintenance, and equipment efficiency.
  • Investigate incidents, ensure countermeasures, and complete documentation.
  • Participate in meetings, manage PLEX activities, and oversee reporting and documentation.
