Job summary

Sinclair Broadcast Group in Columbus, OH seeks a studio support crew member to help prepare and operate for live newscasts. You will assist with teleprompter, camera movement, and guest setup to ensure smooth broadcasts.

Ideal candidates have experience in live production or a related degree, can lift 50 lbs, work early mornings, weekends, and holidays, and collaborate with Engineering, News, and other teams to keep operations running efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience in a live production environment preferred.
• Degree in a related field is a plus.
• Ability to operate cameras and assist with studio equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the studio for live newscasts.
• Operate teleprompter and monitor broadcast cues.
• Assist talent with microphones and equipment.
• Move and set up studio cameras and set pieces.
• Maintain studio space and perform basic equipment cleaning.
• Guide guests from standby to on-air segments.
• Support station operations with Engineering, News, and others.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prepare and maintain the studio for live newscasts
Operate teleprompter
Keep track of broadcast cues and talent positions in studio
Assist talent and guests with microphones and other equipment
Move and position multiple studio cameras and set pieces
Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of studio space and equipment
Prepare and guide studio guests from standby locations to on-air interviews or segments
Support operation of the station by assisting Engineering, News, and other departments
Other duties as assigned

Experience:
Previous experience in a live production environment as a support crew or a degree in a related field preferred.

Work requirements:
Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for multiple hours at a time
Usage of ladders up to 25ft

Availability to work early morning hours including weekends and holidays
