Job summary

Sinclair Broadcast Group is seeking a production specialist to manage live directing, studio operations, and control room functions. The role includes operating Ross Overdrive automation, ENPS/NCRS workflows, and coordinating with crew for smooth newscasts.

Candidate should have hands-on experience with newsroom systems, video servers, and graphics playout. A degree and ability to lift 40 lb lighting gear are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to direct
• Knowledge of Ross Overdrive or equivalent automated systems – helpful
• Working knowledge of NRCS (preferably ENPS) and video servers
• Graphic playout systems (preferably Ross Carbonite)
• Stage manager experience is a plus
• Strong newsroom/assorted breaking news adaptability under pressure
• Live directing and/or switching experience is helpful
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Clear direction to crew under pressure
• Reading and writing skills required
• College degree preferred
• Ability to lift and position 40 lb lighting instruments

Responsibilities

• Perform any production duties as assigned including:


• Ross Overdrive Automation System


• Maintain production studio and control room


• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned, which may include website contribution

Requirements

• Must be able to direct


• Knowledge of Ross Overdrive or equivalent automated systems - helpful


• Possess a working knowledge of NRCS (preferably ENPS) , video servers, graphic playout systems (preferably Ross Carbonite), video routers, switchers, robotic cameras, and wireless lavalier microphones


• Stage manager experience is a plus


• A strong sense of newscast structure, significant hands‑on experience operating in a computer assisted environment, the ability to work well under pressure, exceptional organizational skills and the ability to easily adapt to breaking news situations


• Live directing and/or switching experience and knowledge of switcher concepts is helpful


• Knowledge of production standards and equipment


• Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite


• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure


• Typing and good spelling skills necessary


• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred


• Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments
