Job summary

Sweet Apparel Inc. in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a detail-oriented Production Assistant/Associate to support apparel development across multiple product categories.

You will contribute to the seasonal production process, track orders, coordinate with Design, Merchandising, and overseas factories, and maintain production records to ensure timely, quality delivery. • Experience working directly with overseas factories and vendors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the seasonal production process by assisting with the placement, execution and follow-up of manufacturing orders and ensure timely delivery of quality goods.
• Partner with Design and Merchandising to ensure timely execution of product development calendar.
• Perform daily tracking of goods on order, in progress, and in-transit; create and distribute production status reports; follow-up with vendors and factories as needed.
• Partner with merchandisers to confirm accuracy of size breaks, tickets, and item information; enter data into vendor matrix including costing and capacity.
• Create, revise, input and maintain production orders; monitor transmission to factories; file and maintain records of POs; track pre-production samples and stock deliveries.
• Maintain product development logs, trim inventory and production archives; track non-compliance/claims with vendors.
• Provide general administrative support to the team.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Production Assistant / Associate to support apparel development across multiple product categories!

Please note: this is an on-site position in Midtown Manhattan where we work in office 5 days/week!

Key Responsibilities

• The Production Assistant contributes to the seasonal production process by assisting with the placement, execution and follow-up of manufacturing orders and by ensuring the timely delivery of quality, profitable goods.
• Partner with Design and Merchandising to ensure timely execution of product development calendar
• Perform daily tracking of goods on order, in progress (WIP) and in-transit to ensure timely delivery according to development calendar; create and distribute production status report; follow-up with vendors, factories and Design/Merchandising as needed
• Partner with merchandisers to confirm the accuracy of size breaks, tickets, and item information; enter data into the approved vendor matrix, including costing and production capacity portfolio
• Create, revise, input and maintain production orders and monitor transmission to factories; file and maintain records of purchase orders (POs); receive and track all pre-production samples and stock deliveries
• Maintain product development logs, trim inventory/liability inventory, and production archives library; track non-compliance/claims chargebacks with vendors, where appropriate
• Provide general administrative support to the team as needed

Target compensation for this role starts at $65k/yr dependent on experience
