Job summary

GTRJOBS is seeking a reliable Crate Builder / Packaging Technician to join our team for the 2nd shift (3:00-11:00pm). The role involves building large wooden crates for shipping industrial machinery and oversized materials, using power tools, and operating cranes or forklifts when needed.

Training will be provided for safe, efficient packaging tasks. The ideal candidate has carpentry or woodworking experience and can identify lumber sizes (2x4, 2x6, 2x8).

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry, construction, framing, remodeling or woodworking.
• Experience with cranes or forklifts to move machinery or large materials is a plus.
• Familiarity with power tools (nail guns, staple guns, hammers, tape measures).
• Ability to identify lumber sizes (2x4, 2x6, 2x8).
• Export packaging or building large shipping crates is preferred but not required.
• Comfortable performing general labor and physical work.

Responsibilities

• Build large wooden crates for shipping industrial machinery and oversized materials.
• Measure, cut, and assemble wood using 2x4s, plywood, and other materials.
• Operate hand tools and power tools including nail guns, staple guns, and pneumatic tools.
• Assist with moving large equipment and materials using cranes or forklifts (if experienced).
• Package machines or large parts for domestic and export shipping.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
• Travel to off-site locations for packaging projects when needed (may include multi-day, out-of-state travel).

• Have to take your own measuring tape and hammer to the job
