Job summary

Lingo Staffing in Trumbull, CT is seeking an Experienced Wood Assembler for a hands-on role in a packaging operation. You will read blueprints and cut sheets, select materials, and assemble crates, bases, skids, and caps using nail guns, staple guns, and power drills.

This position requires attention to detail, the ability to stand for long periods, and comfort working with wood and measuring tools. Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of carpentry or crate-building experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and cut sheets accurately.
• Comfort with hand and power tools; basic computer skills for logging jobs.

Responsibilities

• Build crates, bases, skids, and caps using blueprints and cut sheets.
• Operate nail guns, staple guns, power drills, and other tools safely.
• Measure materials with tape measure to 1/8 inch accuracy.
• Read and interpret cut sheets and identify errors.
• Apply foam to crates and perform spec checks.
• Safely use ladders when assembling crate tops/caps.
• Assemble bases or skids while kneeling or crouching; use 20 lb nail gun.
• Log in/out of jobs in the production system.
• Follow SOPs, PPE requirements, and safety procedures.

Experienced Wood Assembler | Trumbull, CT

7am - 3:30pm | Monday-Friday | $18-$19/hour

Lingo Staffing is hiring Experienced Wood Assemblers for a well-established packaging manufacturer in Trumbull, CT. This is a hands-on position for someone with real carpentry, construction, woodworking, or crate-building experience who can read blueprints/cut sheets, use power tools safely, and build quality products to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Build custom wooden crates, bases, skids, and crate caps using blueprints/cut sheets
• Use nail guns, staple guns, power drills, grinders, hammers, utility knives, heat sealers, and other tools
• Measure materials accurately using a tape measure, with accuracy up to 1/8 inch
• Read, interpret, and identify possible cut sheet or stenciling errors
• Apply foam to wood crates using adhesives and complete specification checks
• Safely use ladders when assembling crate tops/caps
• Assemble bases or skids while crouching or kneeling, including use of a 20 lb nail gun
• Log in and out of jobs using the production planning system/Ops Center
• Follow work instructions, production schedules, SOPs, PPE requirements, and safety procedures

Qualifications

• 2+ years of carpentry, woodworking, construction, crate-building, or similar hands-on assembly experience preferred
• Must be comfortable reading blueprints, cut sheets, measurements, and work instructions
• Strong experience with hand tools, power tools, and dimensional measuring tools
• Basic computer skills to log jobs in and out of the production system
• Ability to work independently and maintain quality standards
• Comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, lifting, and working in a production environment
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
