Production Assembly - CHICAGO, IL - Full Time

Labelmaster is an established and growing company that simplifies shipping Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) to make the world safer. We sell and manufacture products, develop software, and provide services for multiple industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, transportation, food and beverages, and others.

Role Overview

As Production Assembly Lead, you will support Production Assembly Leadership while working hands‑on during operational shifts. You will set an example by embodying the company’s vision and values, lead by example, and help team members achieve daily production goals. You will work with metal sheets and assemble, fit, or complete sub‑assemblies or units at a workstation and conveyor, operating assembly machinery and small hand tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direction and support to Production Assembly employees, ensuring work standards are met for compliance and customer experience.
  • Oversee daily Production Assembly functions, including Business Central transactions and accurate staffing.
  • Coach, develop, and train team members; promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate production schedules to meet Customer SLA and assist in tasks as needed.
  • Develop quality inspections, safety initiatives, and adherence to ISO 9001 processes and corrective action responses.
  • Lead daily huddle meetings, maintain a clean and organized work area, and monitor raw material inventories.
  • Participate in cross‑functional teams, manage job runs, and ensure equipment is used efficiently.
  • Document controls: maintain master copies, ensure employees have access to current SOPs, and support QMS requirements.
  • Assist with NCP process and reporting of production data in usable format.
  • Take responsibility for safety, eliminating accidents, injuries, and hazards.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience.
  • Supervisory or management training or experience preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined training or experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts.
  • Knowledge of assembly concepts and techniques and the company’s production assembly process.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) and Navision; good keyboarding skills.
  • Experience with RF scanning and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and coaching abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic environments, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed and to work with limited supervision.

  • Lift or move materials up to 35 lbs.
  • Pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 35 lbs.
