Production Lead

As a Production Lead you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving manufacturing solutions forward. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

Position Summary

The Production Lead is primarily responsible for leading the department personnel in day-to-day activities such as scheduling and assigning duties to team members, making sure product moves through the department in a timely manner, monitoring quality, attendance, productivity and efficiencies. The Production Lead looks for process improvement ideas and uses 5S and continual improvement to reduce scrap, improve ergonomics and output. The Production Lead is responsible for maintaining up to date training records and matrix for all department team members. Additionally, responsible to attend the daily production meeting to report on safety, quality and production issues. Direct training personnel to areas that we need to train or be trained in and offer suggestions for process guide improvements.

In this role, you will:
  • Schedule assembly department personnel to assigned tasks and jobs.
  • Verify subcomponents, issuing pick list to Assembling Operators, ordering material and scheduling set-ups to ensure accurate and timely set-ups.
  • Keep product flowing through the department and passing on to other department to maintain on-time delivery to other departments and to our end customer.
  • Maintain up to date training records and matrix for all team members in the assembly department.
  • Monitor scrap/efficiency reports and communicating the results to assembly department personnel.
  • Attend daily production meeting to report on safety, quality and production concerns.
  • Complete team member evaluations and sit in on performance reviews.
  • Effectively communicate within the department as well with opposite shift leads and personnel.
  • Ensure the quality of the product meets the specifications listed on the router.
  • Understand and follow the SOP’s pertaining to the specific area.
  • Understand and follow the Work Instructions pertaining to the specific area.
  • Perform updates to documentation and process guides through PCO process.
  • Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity.
  • Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in medical device and clean room environment.
  • Support and observe 5S and other lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Restock supplies for next shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
  • Successful completion of four years of high school, or equivalent.
  • three or more months of experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Mechanical abilities (preferred).

  • This physical demand level for this job is considered light with occasionally lifting 10-25 pounds. Exposure to lifting more than 25 pounds is rare (if ever).
  • The employee may frequently be subject to dynamic standing/walking and using hands to finger or handle/touch with constant exposure to static standing/sitting. The employee will rarely (if ever) be subject to pushing/pulling (rough poundage of force), floor to knuckle lift/lower, knuckle to shoulder lift/lower, shoulder to overhead lift/lower, sustained bending, use foot/feet to operate machine, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach above shoulders or repetitive bending or squatting.
  • The following vision requirements apply: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee will occasionally be exposed to working near moving mechanical parts. The employee will rarely (if ever) be subject to wet humid conditions, working in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold or heat, risk of electrical shock or travel on company business. The noise level is considered moderate (business office, computer printer, light traffic level) and occasionally considered loud if near operating production equipment.
  • The employee will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses in the designated areas, hairnet/beard net and jumpsuit when on production floor.
