Job summary

Hörmann North America is seeking a dependable packaging technician to assemble finished sections, prepare packaging materials, and label, band, and palletize parts on the production line.

Work is performed as a non-exempt hourly role in a manufacturing setting; candidates should read a tape measure, lift up to 50 lbs with a team, and stand up to 10 hours per shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Production or assembly experience preferred.
• Must be able to read a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance and more than 50 lbs using a team-lift.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 10 hours.
• Good hand-eye coordination.

Job Summary

Pack the finished sections using packaging material. Prepare packaging material to the required dimensions, position it on conveyor belts, install rail if needed, pack and band the section, label, stack on pallets, and maintain a clean and safe working area.

• Department: Production
• Position: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
• Pay: $18.00 - $20.42 per hour

Physical Environment / Working Conditions

This position involves standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires grasping and fine finger manipulation on both hands, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. The plant is not climate controlled. Noise levels can become high. NWD provides and requires hearing protection in the department. The work is done in an area where moving mechanical machinery, parts or vibration are located.

Specific Vision Requirements

This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.
