Job summary

Hörmann North America is seeking a 500 Line - Assembler to join our Production department. Responsibilities include packing, labeling, and down-stacking finished products while maintaining a clean, safe workspace on the 2nd shift.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED; prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. Pay ranges from $19.00 to $20.42 per hour with benefits including 401(k) and health coverage.

Essential Duties
  • Lift and organize sections
  • Interpret and print orders
  • Cut insulation/foam
  • Insert foam in endcaps/sections
  • Packing, banding and labeling the sections
  • Down stack finished product to pallets or carts
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area
  • Performs tasks of any position on the line as necessary to meet production needs

Education/experience:

Any combination of education providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous manufacturing or assembly line experience preferred, but not required
Skills/Knowledge Required
  • Must be able to read a tape measure accurately
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance and more than 50 lbs using a team-lift
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard and related software
  • Ability to operate hand tools
Physical Environment/Working Conditions

This position involves standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires grasping and fine finger manipulation on both hands. The position requires stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. The plant is not climate controlled. Noise levels can become high. NWD provides and requires hearing protection in the department. The work is done in an area where moving mechanical machinery, parts or vibration are located.

Specific Vision Requirements

This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.
