Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 4 years technical experience.
  • Associate's degree in Electronics or Mechanical Technology preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical fundamentals and circuits.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and data collection devices.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to assemble and troubleshoot fixtures.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills; proficient with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Independently set up, perform, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, environmental, and durability tests on electrical connection assemblies and related products.
  • Build, modify, and validate complex test fixtures and instrumentation setups.
  • Prepare test samples through wiring, crimping, soldering, measuring, and assembly activities.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including environmental chambers, vibration systems, and data acquisition systems.
  • Analyze test failures and support root cause investigations through data review and troubleshooting.
  • Review drawings, specifications, test plans, and customer requirements to determine test methods.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test data with accuracy and compliant procedures.
  • Generate detailed technical reports and communicate findings to engineering teams and customers.
  • Manage multiple testing programs while meeting project schedules and commitments.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of technical experience
Associate's degree in Electronics or Mechanical Technology

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE. This position requires the applicant to be well organized and self-motivated while working under minimum supervision. The applicant should be mechanically and electrically knowledgeable. The applicant must have a common knowledge of series and parallel circuits. Experience with hand soldering and general hand tools is helpful. Applicants must have problem solving and critical thinking skills while working under demanding customer deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment including environmental chambers, vibration systems, force measurement equipment, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and thermal monitoring equipment.
  • Analyze test failures and support root cause investigations through data review and troubleshooting activities.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, test plans, and customer requirements to determine appropriate test methods
  • Collect, analyze, and document test data while ensuring accuracy and compliance with laboratory procedures.
  • Generate detailed technical reports and communicate findings to engineering teams and customers.
  • Manage multiple testing programs simultaneously while meeting project schedules and customer commitments.
What Your Background Should Look Like
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of technical experience required.
  • Associate's degree in Electronics or Mechanical Technology discipline or local equivalent and 2 years of related experience is preferred and can be subistuted for above requirement.
  • Working knowledge of electrical fundamentals, including Ohm's Law and series/parallel circuits.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and data collection devices.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble, modify, and troubleshoot fixtures and test setups.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.

Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $50,400 – 75,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
