Job summary

Valicy is seeking a hands-on Hardware Product Sustaining and Quality Assurance Engineer to support electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems of gaming machines from production to field deployment. You will troubleshoot hardware issues, lead root-cause analysis, and drive improvements in reliability, cost, and serviceability.

• 2+ years of hardware, sustaining, product, or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical hardware systems.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with electronic and electromechanical products.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective action.
• Familiarity with engineering change processes.
• Experience using basic engineering test equipment such as DMMs and oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

We are seeking a hands-on Hardware Product Sustaining and Quality Assurance Engineer to support the electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical aspects of gaming machines throughout production and field deployment. This role will troubleshoot hardware issues, lead root-cause analysis, support manufacturing and suppliers, manage engineering changes, and drive improvements in reliability, quality, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability.The ideal candidate is a practical problem solver who can work independently across electrical and mechanical disciplines in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand company Mission, Vision, and Values and be an ambassador of MVV.
• Support sustaining engineering for gaming machines, including cabinets, displays, button decks, power systems, motherboards, lighting, audio, wiring, cooling, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and field issues.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production and field failures.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, CAD drawings, and BOMs.
• Support ECO/ECN, BOM changes, component substitutions, and engineering documentation.
• Work directly with suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve technical and quality issues.
• Support production builds, validation, qualification, reliability testing, and manufacturing ramp-up.
• Evaluate alternate components and suppliers for cost, quality, availability, and obsolescence.
• Support UL, FCC, EMC, Canadian, GLI, and other applicable compliance activities.
• Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Field Service, and Operations.
• Drive continuous improvements in product reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.
• Travel periodically to suppliers, manufacturing facilities, testing laboratories, and field locations as applicable.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of hardware, sustaining, product, or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical hardware systems.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with electronic and electromechanical products.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and BOMs.
• Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective action.
• Familiarity with engineering change processes.
• Experience using basic engineering test equipment such as DMMs and oscilloscopes.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with slot machines, gaming equipment, casino technology, kiosks, amusement equipment, or similar products.
• Class II/Class III gaming experience.
• Familiarity with UL, FCC, EMC, and GLI requirements.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers and overseas suppliers.
• CAD experience such as SolidWorks.
• Experience with power supplies, displays, embedded computers, lighting, audio, thermal management, and cooling systems.
