Job summary

Hamilton Porter is recruiting for a Sustaining Engineer in Las Vegas to maintain and enhance electronic products in the field. This full-time, salaried role requires a background in electronics or software and a BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.

The job involves troubleshooting, USB protocol discussions with OEMs, test app development in C/C++, and PCB/schematic interpretation. You'll work with Altium/PADs, Visual Studio, and possibly SolidWorks, with opportunities for new product

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 0–3 years experience in electronics and/or software.
• Knowledge of USB protocol structure is a plus.
• Circuit design and PCB layout experience preferred (Altium/PADS).
• Embedded software development experience with microprocessor-based systems is a plus.
• SolidWorks experience a plus.
• Currency handling, gaming industry or POS design experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot reported problems with existing products, consider potential solutions, communicate and follow up with engineering teams until resolved.
• Discuss communication methods and protocol details with OEM customers. (Various customer and company defined USB and serial protocols.)
• Create Test Applications to control and test our machines. (C/C++, Visual Studio, Assembly)
• Maintain and support company printer designs. (Cost reduction analysis, confirm / select alternate components, designer level problem analysis)
• Occasional opportunity to develop value-adding products, such as harnesses, bezels and interface conversion circuits and limited responsibility to investigate and prototype new ideas
• Read and understand circuit schematics and communication protocol documents

Hamilton Porter is a nationwide recruiting firm that is actively partnered with an electronics manufacturer in Las Vegas to help them find and hire their next Sustaining Engineer. This is a full-time, salaried role and has a Monday to Thursday work schedule. The Sustaining Engineer will be responsibly for keeping company products functioning in the field at a very high level. This is a great role for someone with a strong background working with electronic products or has a degree in Electrical Engineering. Please read on for more details!

• Competitive Annual Base Salary ($60,000 - $80,000)
