Job summary

Formic Technologies is seeking a Product Support Engineer to serve as the technical escalation point for field engineering and to become an internal expert for one to two system types. You will diagnose issues, develop troubleshooting paths, and drive remediation to keep the field moving.

You will review fleet failures, work with Product Engineering for permanent fixes, and grow knowledge across Formic products to minimize demand on resources.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, controls, and automation systems.
• Experience with PLCs, industrial robots, safety equipment, vision, networking, or related technologies.
• Comfortable working directly with equipment to reproduce problems and test solutions.
• Able to use data to work through complex technical problems and identify root causes.
• Able to own an escalation and drive it to closure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own technical escalations for assigned system types and guide Field Service Engineers.
• Develop troubleshooting plans and reproduce field failures in the office.
• Review logs, configurations, and failure history to determine next steps.
• Test PLC, robot, software, and electrical/configuration changes to validate theories.
• Escalate systemic issues to Product Engineering with data and recommendations.
• Maintain knowledge base, guides, and lessons learned for the systems.
