Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Product Specialist, Doctoring to engage directly with customers in the Pulp & Paper industry. The role focuses on growing the doctoring market and delivering services and parts to improve machine runnability and product quality.

You will travel within the Midwest region, perform audits, inventories, and evaluations, and quote opportunities while building strong customer relationships and forecasting territory performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent industry experience.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the Midwest region of the United States.

Responsibilities

• Build professional relationships with customer personnel (maintenance, reliability, purchasing, production).
• Grow market in doctoring and service parts.
• Conduct visits for consulting, selling and servicing doctoring solutions.
• Identify improvement opportunities in customer processes and products.
• Perform in-mill services like audits and inventories at assigned accounts.
• Quote opportunities and secure orders from existing and potential customers.
• Provide territory forecasts and maintain accurate call reports.

Are you a self-driven professional who enjoys equipment services?

In this role as a Product Specialist, Doctoring, you will play a critical role by working directly with our customers in the Pulp & Paper industry to help grow our market in performance parts and services. Our Doctoring services and technology affects machine runnability, paper and board quality, production costs, and production efficiency. Your industry knowledge and expertise will help move our customers’ performance forward.

Responsibilities

• Establishes professional relationships with appropriate customer personnel such as Mill maintenance and reliability, purchasing, and production.
• You will be responsible for growing our market in doctoring.
• This role will require frequent customer visits involving consulting, selling and servicing Valmet doctoring parts and solutions.
• You will help the customer identify their potential areas of improvement as it relates to these products in their production processes.
• In this role, you will also roll your sleeves up and perform in mill services including paper machine audits, parts inventories, and other evaluations at assigned accounts.
• The successful candidate will secure opportunities to quote on prospective agreements and obtain orders from existing and potential customers.
• You will help provide a territory sales forecast/budget for assigned accounts, record call reports, and understand the market and competition.
• This position supports customers throughout the Midwest region of the United States and requires frequent travel within the territory.

Expectations

This opportunity could be right for you are a pro-active, curious minded individual, and have the right combination of education and experience in mechanical engineering and/or paper sciences disciplines. As you’ll be working closely with our customers throughout the U.S. geographical area, you will spend a large portion of your time traveling. Bachelor’s degree in Paper Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
