Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company, “Versant,” comprising a strong portfolio of cable television networks including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Golf Channel, along with digital assets like Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, and Sports Engine. This well-capitalized company aims to have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports, and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description
We’re looking for a Product Specialist to deliver industry-leading solutions for our users as we build the future platform for Titles & Metadata. These tools need to be designed to scale and integrate with various systems along the Content Supply Chain.
We leverage deep relationships with our Business Engagement and Engineering teams to build cohesive, end-to-end solutions our clients love to use. These applications aim to make content delivery seamless and lay the foundation for innovative products.
To succeed in this role, you'll need a love for the TV & Film industry and an appreciation for the creative work involved in content creation.

Responsibilities
  1. Document business use cases and requirements to create product stories for engineering teams.
  2. Collaborate with Operations & Technology design team to develop workflows, user journeys, and whiteboarding sessions.
  3. Identify new functionalities to meet emerging business needs or explore new opportunities.
  4. Assist in creating product requirement documents across multidisciplinary teams to develop cohesive plans.
  5. Manage product stories end-to-end, working with the Product owner responsible for Product Development within the Titles & Metadata team.
  6. Develop relationships with Service teams to identify dependencies and work with Product Owners to mitigate risks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Product Management, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1+ years of relevant experience in the technology or media industry.
  • Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills demonstrated over 1+ years.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with effective interpersonal, project management, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to understand technical diagrams and communicate with less technical audiences.
  • Expertise in research, technical writing, and developing user stories.
  • Experience with CMS or backend technology platforms.
Desired Characteristics
  • Minimum 1+ years of product management experience in media, including client requirements gathering, writing specifications, and managing product roadmaps and launches.
  • At least 2 years of direct client engagement experience.
  • Experience in Television/Broadcast, Media, Technology, or related fields.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and tools like Jira.
  • Problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.

Additional Information

This position is fully remote, contributing from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, typically an employee’s residence. It includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other perks. Salary range: $80,000-$100,000.
