Job description

We’re looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success – and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.

The Product Solutions Engineer - Thermal plays a pivotal role in developing innovative cooling technologies for high-performance data centers. By leading architecture and design efforts in heat transfer modeling, microfluidic systems, and CFD analysis, this role ensures our thermal solutions not only meet but exceed customer expectations. This expertise drives product differentiation and positions our business as a leader in data center cooling innovation, enabling us to tackle emerging challenges in high-density computing environments.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

Lead efforts in thermal system definition and sizing, focusing on heat transfer methods, microfluidics, single- and two-phase refrigerant systems, and multi-stage heat transfer technologies.

Design and simulation of thermal components, system building blocks, and product thermal definitions, ensuring products seamlessly integrate into data center environments and alignment with customer requirements.

Utilize Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools to simulate, analyze, and optimize thermal and fluid flow performance. Provide actionable recommendations for design enhancements and system efficiency.

Work closely with internal teams (e.g., sales, product management, and services) and external partners (e.g., vendors) to deliver innovative thermal solutions from concept to implementation.

Identify and address customer challenges, product gaps, and emerging market needs by developing and deploying advanced thermal management solutions.

Stay at the forefront of thermal and data center cooling trends by engaging in market analysis and identifying opportunities for innovation in refrigerant and heat transfer technologies.

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the initial design and deployment of liquid cooling products and solutions, ensuring rigorous validation and performance testing.

Provide mentorship to junior team members, share technical expertise across teams, and contribute to white papers, technical proposals, and industry presentations.

YOU HAVE:

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in thermal systems, including heat transfer, microfluidics, refrigerant systems, and multi-stage heat exchangers.

Proven experience leading design efforts for thermal components and systems in data center or similar environments.

Expertise in CRAC units, liquid cooling systems, and data center thermal management is highly desirable.

Proficiency in CFD simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, FLOtherm XT, STAR-CCM+, or similar) for fluid and thermal analysis.

Expertise in data center high-density liquid cooling (HDLC) system design and installations, along with experience in heat transfer modeling, microchannel design, and refrigerant-based systems.

Familiarity with cold plate design, chip-level heat transfer techniques, and the composition and chemistry of data center liquids is highly desirable.

Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD tools is advantageous for design collaboration.

Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, mentor junior engineers, and manage complex cross-functional projects.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Ability to assess complex technical challenges, develop innovative solutions, and align with strategic goals.

Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer meetings, site visits, and collaborative development activities.

WE HAVE:

A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day
