Job summary

Parallel is building security systems to enable rapid development without exposing customers to risk. You will shape authentication, authorization, data handling, and outbound controls for enterprise clients, while advancing AI-assisted security tooling and secure defaults across the platform.

You’ll work across engineers and customers to eliminate vulnerability classes, write production code, and own security outcomes end-to-end in a fully in-person Palo Alto/San Francisco setting.

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience focused on product or application security.
• Strong experience with web and API security: authentication, authorization, SSRF, IDOR and injection.
• Built frameworks or secure defaults reducing vulnerabilities across codebases.
• Experience building security tooling using AI models for review or triage.
• Security of systems processing untrusted inputs, especially AI/agentic systems.
• Ability to act as primary security owner and prioritize effectively.
• Proficient production coding in Python, Go, or TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate security systems enabling fast shipping with reduced risk.
• Collaborate across application security, secure defaults, AI tooling, and agentic surfaces.
• Fix vulnerabilities and harden underlying systems to prevent recurrence.
• Define security patterns in development: auth, data handling, outbound access, enterprise controls.
• Ensure security reviews are integrated into software delivery, not deferred.
