Job summary

Parallel Web Systems in San Francisco and Palo Alto seeks a senior security engineer to build and operate security systems for rapid, safe shipping of web infrastructure. You will tackle application security, secure defaults, AI-assisted tooling, and the attack surface of agentic systems consuming untrusted web content.

You will help define security in the development process by creating reusable patterns for authentication, data handling, and outbound access, and ensure security reviews are

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience with focus on product or application security.
• Strong experience with web and API security, including authentication, authorization, SSRF, IDOR, injection, and multi-tenant isolation.
• Built frameworks, libraries, or secure defaults that reduced vulnerabilities across a codebase or org.
• Experience building security tooling using current AI models (e.g., automated code review, threat modeling, triage).
• Experience securing systems that process untrusted inputs (LLM/agentic systems).

Responsibilities
