Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Product Cybersecurity Engineer, Secure Product Engineering, to be a hands-on contributor across GM's product security programs. Qualifications

• 4+ years of cybersecurity experience in application security, product security, or similar.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and influence without formal authority.
• Strong experience with application security, secure software engineering, and practical guidance.
• Experience with SAST, DAST, fuzzing, code review, and secure SDLC workflows across platforms.
• Ability to read and write software in multiple languages to build tooling and support execution.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve security with minimal friction.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a hands-on technical contributor across secure software and systems engineering.
• Design, build, and mature secure engineering services for GM products.
• Embed with product engineering teams to support secure implementation.
• Implement and mature SAST, DAST, fuzzing, runtime security, and OS hardening.
• Author technical guidance, reusable patterns, and guardrails for rollout across product environments.
• Conduct in-depth secure code reviews and collaborate to improve tooling and security requirements.
• Mentor engineers to uphold a high technical bar and promote secure practices.
