Job summary

Lam Research in Oregon and beyond is seeking a Product Safety Engineer within the Global Products Group. You will independently drive safety activities for semiconductor capital equipment, working with design, manufacturing, and field teams to define, implement, and sustain safety requirements across the product lifecycle.

You will apply SEMI standards, regulatory directives, and safety best practices, participating in design reviews and interfacing with certification bodies to close findings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of safety engineering experience in semiconductor capital equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and process flow diagrams.
• Experience with third-party certification bodies and closing compliance gaps.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system-level hazard analyses and implement risk mitigation.
• Apply SEMI S2, CE Marking, NFPA standards to support compliance.
• Identify design risks across electrical, mechanical, chemical domains and collaborate with engineers.
• Participate in design reviews to embed safety requirements early.
• Resolve safety issues from reviews, field feedback, and external assessments.
• Interface with third-party certification agencies to close findings.
• Review maintenance and service procedures for safe operation.
• Support customer confidence in product safety with field teams.
