Job summary

Lam Research in Oregon is seeking a Product Safety Engineer to independently drive safety activities for semiconductor capital equipment. You will work with design, manufacturing, and field teams to ensure safety requirements are defined, implemented, and sustained through the product lifecycle.

This role requires systems‑level thinking to analyze complex equipment, identify hazards, and drive design improvements that protect people, environment, and the system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years applying safety standards and hazard analysis in semiconductor equipment or similar.
• Ability to analyze systems and identify hazards across electrical, mechanical, and chemical domains.
• Experience with third‑party certification bodies and closing compliance gaps.
• Strong cross‑functional communication and hands‑on testing approach.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform system‑level hazard analysis and risk assessments with mitigation.
• Apply SEMI S2, CE Marking directives, and NFPA standards to support compliance.
• Identify risks across electrical, mechanical, chemical domains and partner to resolve.
• Contribute to design reviews to embed safety requirements early.
• Resolve safety issues from reviews, field feedback, and third‑party evaluations.
• Interface with third‑party certification agencies for safety closure.
• Review maintenance procedures to ensure safe operation and servicing.
• Collaborate with account teams and field organizations to support customer confidence.
