Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) is seeking a Reliability Engineer (Product Testing) to lead validation and robustness efforts for cable backplane assemblies used in AI and hyperscale data centers. Based in Raleigh, NC (or nearby Etters, PA), you will define test architectures, develop plans, and build fixtures.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality and external partners to translate requirements into automated test solutions, apply DOE/MSA, and drive launch readiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, reliability, manufacturing, or systems engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in product testing, validation, reliability engineering, or test-system development.
• Experience architecting and commissioning test systems, fixtures, and instrumentation.
• Hands-on with electrical, mechanical, and environmental lab equipment.
• Ability to travel ~20% to locations and suppliers.
• Knowledge of reliability statistics, DOE, MSA, data analysis, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute reliability and validation strategies and test plans across the product life cycle.
• Define modular test-system architectures including hardware, fixtures, sensors, data acquisition, and software interfaces.
• Design, build, and validate electrical and mechanical test fixtures and automated setups.
• Conduct electrical, mechanical, thermal, vibration, and environmental testing.
• Apply DOE, MSA, Gage R&R, and statistical analysis for test-system capability.
• Troubleshoot systems and lead root-cause analyses of failures.
• Document architectures, procedures, results, risks, and recommendations.
