Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Industrial/Occupational Safety, Health & Hygiene (weight 10).
• 2–5 years of related work experience in chemical/regulatory fields (weight 8).
• Working knowledge of OSHA HazCom, GHS, EU REACH/CLP, WHMIS, 49 CFR, and 29 CFR (weight 8).
• Experience in SDS authoring is desirable; knowledge of WERCS Elite SDS authoring software is desirable (weight 7).
• Familiarity with EPCRA Tier II and TRI reporting or ability to learn regulatory portals (weight 7).
• Experience with compostable/biodegradable or third‑party certifications (weight 6).
• Ability to read primary regulatory text and document determinations that stand up to audits (weight 7).
• Disciplined recordkeeping and attention to detail; reliability in meeting deadlines (weight 6).

Responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day regulatory work for NTIC across Zerust and Natur‑Tec product lines and prepare determinations for Regulatory Manager review.
• Execute recurring filings, hazard communication, screening, and recordkeeping per operating procedures.
• Act as first point of contact for routine regulatory questions from Sales, Operations, R&D, customers, and partners.
• Document evidence behind every determination and escalate novel questions.
• Create and maintain SDSs for NTIC products in compliance with HazCom, GHS, REACH/CLP; maintain SDS data in system.
• Enter and maintain composition data in WERCS Elite and ensure data integrity.
• Distribute SDS revisions to customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Safety Manager on SDS library and employee right‑to‑know access.
• Create and maintain GHS‑compliant labels and review claims for regulatory accuracy.
• Determine U.S. and international transportation hazard classifications.
• Monitor global regulatory developments and assess impact on formulations and operations.
• Prepare regulatory submissions and maintain documentation calendars and records.
