Job summary

3M in Minnesota is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to drive quality across new product introductions and existing processes. You will apply Six Sigma, DOE and QMS methods to ensure consumer needs are met and manufacturing processes are capable.

You will interact with customers on complaint investigations, trend quality data, and lead corrective actions while ensuring design intent is preserved through changes. Travel up to 10% domestically/internationally; relocation may be authorized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
• Five (5) years of combined experience in Quality Engineering, Product/Process Engineering or similar, Supplier Management, Quality Management Systems, Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis and/or Design Control within a private, public, government, or military environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive quality tools in NPI to accelerate projects while mitigating risk by ensuring consumer needs are met, test methods are robust, specifications are well defined, and manufacturing processes are capable.
• Support laboratory, products, processes, and systems such as addressing customer complaints and working with the team on corrective actions.
• Support and interact with customers and consumers through complaint investigations, resolution, and trending including monthly Quality Dashboard reports.
• Troubleshoot, investigate, and analyze for non-conforming product testing and disposition.
• Drive existing product quality enhancement through continuous improvement methods and tools (PPU, DOE, Six Sigma, Quality at the Source).
• Ensure design intent and product integrity are retained as materials, processes, and specs change.
