SERVPRO is seeking a Production & Product Development Intern to join the Corporate Headquarters in Gallatin, TN for a full-time internship from May 24 to July 31, 2027. The role includes exposure to warehouse and production operations, blending, packaging, and cost analysis, with an emphasis on quality systems and data documentation.

You will participate in team activities, shadow experienced staff, and contribute to capstone projects and process improvements. Housing relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher not required; internship target is current students.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient MS Office usage; intermediate Excel (sorting, filtering, pivot tables).
• Ability to follow procedures and record data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly intern activities and attend team meetings.
• Shadow experienced employees to learn operations and production processes.
• Assist blending, production, packaging, and finished goods transfer activities.
• Support production scheduling, run rates, changeovers, yield, and material tracking.
• Support quality checks, batch docs, product specs, and SDS reviews.
• Assist with new product development and capstone project coordination.

Production & Product Development Intern

This full time internship will run from May 24 through July 31 2027 and will be based at SERVPRO Corporate Headquarters in Gallatin Tennessee. The position pays 2000 per hour. Please note that housing relocation assistance and other accommodations are not provided by the Company.

Job Summary

The Production & Product Development Interns goal is to understand day to day operations within the SERVPRO Warehouse & Production Department.

Responsibilities

You will Participate in weekly intern activities as scheduled and assignedAttend team meetings and department eventsShadow experienced employees to learn business operationsWork alongside the blending and production team to learn batching mixing filling labeling packaging and finished goods transfer processesSupport production scheduling and planning activities including run rates changeover time yield scrap and raw material consumption trackingAssist with quality checks batch documentation product specifications and Safety Data Sheet SDS and label accuracy reviewsSupport research and development of in house chemicals and equipment including sample preparation test coordination and documentation of resultsAnalyze data and prepare reports on product cost including bill of materials packaging cost landed cost and margin modelingAssist with competitive and supplier research on products packaging and equipment; compile findings into summary recommendations for leadershipSupport the new product launch process in coordination with Purchasing Marketing Warehousing and QualityRotate through warehousing and distribution to understand inventory management replenishment and outbound service to franchisesSupport process improvement safety and 5S initiativesParticipate in special projects assigned by supervisors including a capstone project presented to division leadership at the conclusion of the internship

Qualifications

You have Excellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in MS Office Word Excel PowerPoint; intermediate Excel skills including sorting filtering and pivot tables preferredExcellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesA proactive and creative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute new ideasStrong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of workAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to follow documented procedures precisely and record accurate dataInterest in manufacturing product development quality systems or chemical production; prior lab or production coursework or experience is a plus

Education

High School diploma or equivalent is requiredMust be a current Junior or Senior enrolled in college pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management Operations Management Industrial Engineering Chemistry or a related field

Work Conditions

Fast paced high pressure production warehouse and office environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals fragrances and blending equipmentWill work a maximum of 40 hours per week Monday Friday 800 AM 500 PM; occasional early start times to align with production run schedulesRequired personal protective equipment PPE including eye protection gloves and closed toe footwear must be worn in designated production and warehouse areasAbility to lift push or move up to 50 lbs individually
