Purpose of the Position

Translates and communicates the product visionto Agile development teams utilizing the Scrum framework. Collaborates with stakeholders to define product requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria and to produce a clearly defined backlog. Implements solutions and prioritizes requirements to deliver the best value tothe customer and the business. Acts as a bridge between stakeholders and development teams to understand roadblocks and specifications and recommend actionable solutions. Gathers, records, and organizes feedback to help improve processes, workflow, or product development. Oversees development to ensure requirements are implemented effectively within the required timelines. Responsible for project budget oversight and adherence. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. Serves as a specialist on complex technical and business matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and translate business and user requirements into high-level features and detailed user stories with Acceptance Criteria to be added to the product backlog, including design of new or changed processing, data requirements user interfaces, and/or database design.
  • Collaborate and communicate closely with teams and other stakeholders to design solutions for approval and delivery.
  • Facilitate product innovation and roadmap planning sessions as well as provide technical guidance and solutions on the product.
  • Participate in the release and sprint planning sessions to select appropriate priorities from the product backlog for inclusion in release priorities.
  • Perform acceptance testing for user stories and features.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with major in Computer Science, Engineering, or other similar technical area or, in lieu of education, four or more years performing Business Analyst or Product Ownership duties in a Scrum environment. Plus:
  • 7+ or more years of experience performing Business Analyst work in support of a Product & Engineering organization.
  • 7 or more years of experience as a Product Owner, preferably in a Product & Engineering organization.
  • 7 or more years of experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Applicants for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Habemco (e.g., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (STEM/OPT), TN visa.)
  • All offers are contingent upon signing a confidentiality agreement and satisfactory completion of drug screening and background checks. Employers observes federal standards for controlled substances.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university with major in Computer Science, Engineering, or other similar technical area.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong experience working on UX-focused digital products.
  • Knowledgeable in the FinTech domain.
  • Proficient knowledge of the product innovation life cycle.
  • End-to-end product life-cycle experience required.
  • Extensive understanding of Agile methodology and the role the Product Owner holds within the agile SDLC.
  • Experience in prioritizing and managing the product backlog, writing user stories, managing epics, and creating process flow diagrams is required.
  • Proven knowledge of creating product roadmaps and strategies for mobile and web applications.
  • Effectively prioritizes and executes tasks in a highly productive yet autonomous environment.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills (i.e., design, debugging, and testing) and experience with software development projects.
  • Ability to present technical ideas in concise, user-friendly, or layman's language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills used in developing effective working relationships and listening skills.
  • Result-driven and solutions-oriented with the ability to develop and implement the resolution in time-sensitive situations.
  • Motivate and mentor team members to grow their skills and careers by creating a nurturing environment that encourages innovation and continual learning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, and confidential environment.
