Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated is seeking a Product Owner to own the backlog for a defined product area within Exacta Systems. You’ll have latitude for day-to-day delivery decisions and direct access to product leadership, connecting strategy to measurable business outcomes.

You will translate product strategy into actionable work, define user stories and acceptance criteria, and prioritize work with a focus on regulatory needs and operator impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with relevant tech/business background.
• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and rules.
• Experience with Agile software development and QA lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Own, maintain, and refine the product backlog with clear prioritization.
• Translate strategy into actionable development work and user stories.
• Collaborate with Eng, QA, Ops and stakeholders to ensure delivery.
• Clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, and validation before release.
• Balance business value, dependencies, defects, and timelines.
