Job summary

First Soft Solutions LLC is seeking an experienced Data Product Owner in New York, NY hybrid. You will lead enterprise data products across client, transaction, and product masters, working closely with business stakeholders and data engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of experience in Data Product Management or similar data-focused roles.
• Strong experience within Financial Services.
• Experience in Asset Management or Wealth Management is highly preferred.
• Proven experience owning and delivering multiple enterprise data products.
• Strong hands-on SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience with large and complex enterprise datasets.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, and Enterprise Data Models.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise data products (Client Master, Transaction Master, Product Master).
• Define and manage product roadmaps, priorities, backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with business, finance, operations, data, and engineering teams to gather requirements.
• Conduct discovery sessions and identify data challenges.
• Perform hands-on data analysis, profiling, validation, anomaly detection, and data quality checks.
• Define data quality standards, governance, metadata, dictionaries, and lineage.
• Work with data engineers on data models, pipelines, and platform design.
• Define and track product KPIs, adoption metrics, and data quality measures.
• Present roadmaps and business cases to senior leadership.
• Manage multiple data products, priorities, risks, dependencies, and stakeholders.
• Leverage AI and automation to improve data analysis and product delivery.

Location: New York, NY Hybrid, 2 3 days onsite

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Product Owner to lead enterprise data products supporting critical business, client, and investment management functions.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong experience working with both business stakeholders and data engineering teams. The ideal candidate should be comfortable owning product strategy and roadmaps while also performing hands-on data analysis using SQL and enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise data products such as Client Master, Transaction Master, Product Master, and other foundational datasets.
• Define and manage product roadmaps, priorities, backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with business, finance, operations, data, and engineering teams to gather and translate requirements.
• Conduct discovery sessions and identify business and data challenges.
• Perform hands-on data analysis, data profiling, validation, anomaly detection, and data quality checks.
• Define data quality standards, governance requirements, metadata, data dictionaries, and lineage.
• Work with data engineers and architects on data models, pipelines, and platform design.
• Define and track product KPIs, adoption metrics, and data quality measures.
• Present product roadmaps, business cases, and project updates to senior leadership.
• Manage multiple data products, priorities, risks, dependencies, and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to improve data analysis and product delivery.

Required Skills

• 8 10+ years of experience in Data Product Management, Data Product Ownership, or similar data-focused roles.
• Strong experience within Financial Services.
• Experience in Asset Management or Wealth Management is highly preferred.
• Proven experience owning and delivering multiple enterprise data products.
• Strong hands-on SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience working with large and complex enterprise datasets.
• Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies.
