Job summary

Global Payments seeks a Product Owner to bridge strategy and delivery for software teams in Indiana. You will own the development backlog, decompose features into user stories, and ensure acceptance criteria are clear and testable.

You will collaborate with Product Designers, Engineering Leads, QA, Release Management, and stakeholders to align priorities with roadmaps and drive features from definition through release verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field; typically 6–8 years of experience.
• Experience owning or managing a development team backlog, writing user stories, and defining acceptance criteria.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban) with backlog management responsibilities.
• Experience in payments, POS, or fintech product domains.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentation.
• CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent Product Owner certification.

Responsibilities

• Owns and manages the development team's backlog, ensuring it is healthy, current, prioritized, and aligned with PM priorities and delivery capacity.
• Decomposes features into user stories with complete acceptance criteria and alignment with release timelines.
• Collaborates with Product Designers to embed UX specs and with Engineering for technical validation and estimation.
• Enforces the team Definition of Ready and serves as final functional acceptance authority with PM partnership.
• Drives refinement and release-readiness ceremonies, clarifying behavior and business rules.
• Manages feature flag lifecycle and coordinates with Release Management for staged rollouts.
• Collaborates across teams to ensure cross-domain coverage and synchronized delivery timelines.
• Continuously improves delivery practices and maintains clear documentation.
