Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Digital Product Manager to maximize product value, partnering with engineering on backlog creation and prioritization, and providing a clear product vision aligned with customer value.

You will own the product’s success and quality, manage cross-product initiatives, align roadmaps across teams, and develop deep user insights to shape opportunities and experiences for VisionLink subscriptions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Comm/Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in digital product management, UX, user research or digital strategy.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling and analytic skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams including business partners and development.
  • Experience in Agile environments with multiple priorities.
  • Experience with experience mapping techniques (story mapping, object mapping, assumption mapping).
  • Experience with software product management and lifecycle.
  • UAT knowledge and tools familiarity.
  • Experience with PM tools: Aha, ProductBoard, Azure DevOps, JIRA, Rally.

Responsibilities

  • Own backlog creation, prioritization, and refinement with engineering teams.
  • Provide product vision, domain knowledge, and direction aligned with customer value.
  • Own the success and quality of the product.
  • Lead cross-product initiatives, including prioritization, roadmap definition, and elaboration of epics and features.
  • Align roadmaps and experiences across dependent product teams.
  • Develop deep understanding of users and their processes, including triggers, steps, roles, and outcomes.
  • Frame and plan new opportunities by articulating problems, impact, assumptions, and risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and facilitate solutioning and brainstorming activities.
  • Lead definition of major experience elements across functions and domains.
  • Help improve dealers’ workflows and customer experiences for VisionLink subscriptions.

Job description

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Communications, Engineering or related field or equivalent working experience
  • Strong experience in digital product management, user experience, user research, digital strategy, or related function
  • Superb communication, presentation, storytelling, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well within multiple teams including business/commercial partners, cross-product portfolio, development, and field-facing arms of an organization
  • Experience working in an Agile environment while simultaneously managing multiple priorities
  • Experience utilizing experience mapping techniques, including user story mapping, object mapping (OOUX), and assumption mapping
  • Professional experience with heavy equipment technology solutions, business applications, and/or fleet management
  • Knowledge of decision-making processes and associated tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques
  • Knowledge and experience with software product business aspects and operations
  • Knowledge of software product management and software product development lifecycles
  • Knowledge of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, tasks, tools, and techniques
  • Experience managing projects using Product Management and/or Agile software tools such as Aha, ProductBoard, Azure DevOps, JIRA, Team Services, or Rally
  • Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position
  • Successful completion of a drug screen required as a condition of employment
