Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a data product owner to manage and deliver data product enhancements within an enterprise domain. You will translate business needs into prioritized backlog items, define requirements, and create actionable user stories.

Collaborate with BI, data engineering, governance, and analytics teams to ensure data quality, security, and governance while maintaining roadmaps and release plans. You will engage stakeholders, define acceptance criteria, and support delivery commitments

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, related field, or equivalent work experience
2+ years of relevant product owner experience
Experience working in Agile delivery teams, including backlog management, user story creation, sprint planning, and acceptance criteria definition
Experience translating business requirements into actionable product and data solutions
Familiarity with data governance, data quality, reporting, analytics, and enterprise data management concepts
Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile planning tools
CSPO, SAFe POPM, or equivalent Agile certification preferred
Energy industry or adjacent industry experience preferred
Understanding of operational, commercial, financial, or enterprise data domains

Job description

Manage and deliver data product enhancements within an assigned enterprise domain
Translate business needs into prioritized backlog items, well-defined requirements, and actionable user stories
Maintain and execute product roadmaps and release plans
Maintain and prioritize the product backlog
Gather and clarify business requirements and define acceptance criteria
Engage business stakeholders and data consumers to gather feedback and inform prioritization
Assess business objectives, data dependencies, and user needs to maximize enterprise data product value
Facilitate communication and planning among business stakeholders, BI development, data engineering, data architecture, data science, and data governance teams
Resolve product-related issues, manage trade-off decisions, and address risks and dependencies
Represent the data product during planning activities and help define delivery commitments
Review and accept completed work against acceptance criteria and stakeholder expectations
Partner with governance, architecture, and engineering teams to ensure data quality, usability, security, and governance
Monitor product adoption, feedback, and business outcomes to identify continuous improvement opportunities

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, related field, or equivalent work experience
