As the first ever Product Operations Specialist, you will build and streamline the internal operations that power our product. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, engineering, customer success, and operations—working cross-functionally to ensure our systems, workflows, and data pipelines run smoothly. You are perfect for this role if you:

This role will be instrumental in ensuring that Budgie’s users have the best possible experience AND Budgie’s employees are focused on what matters most. You will work directly with the cofounders to help build Budgie!

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure high quality delivery of the evolving Budgie experience

    • Own and improve internal workflows that support the delivery of our product—especially those tied to onboarding, data ingestion, benefits configuration, and reporting

    • Work with the customer success and support teams to triage and resolve issues related to data, configuration, and product logic

    • Partner with product and engineering to define and optimize processes for feature rollouts, configuration changes, and QA

  • Improve processes across the company to ensure scale is never a concern

    • Identify and lead initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce errors, and scale internal operations

    • Build and maintain internal documentation, SOPs, and process maps to ensure consistency and reduce operational friction

    • Work with leadership to help determine resourcing needs across the company

    • Analyze operational and product data to generate insights and drive decision-making

  • Cross-functional Collaboration

    • As a member of the product term, serve as a key owner of internal products and processes responsible to stakeholders across the company

    • Work closely with sales and marketing to get ahead of new requests and change management

Required Qualifications: Must-Haves

  • 2–5 years of experience in product operations, business operations, or a similar cross-functional role

  • Strong project management and communication skills—you’re organized, detail-oriented, and proactive

  • Comfort working with data: you can manipulate spreadsheets, run complex SQL queries, build dashboards, and spot trends or outliers

  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • Thrives in ambiguity - Ability to translate vague problems into structured workflows and clear next steps

  • You don’t just like wearing multiple hats, it's your preferred fashion statement

Preferred Attributes: Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with employee benefits, open enrollment processes, and healthcare-related products

  • Experience building AI into scales processes

Total Rewards Package:

  • Cash compensation range: $130,000 – $170,000 per year (based on experience and location)
