You will partner with Product Management, Regulatory, and Commercial Ops to ensure system readiness, field software updates, and country-specific configurations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive field software update execution by tracking deployment progress and remediation with Product Support.
• Monitor system readiness for software deployment by tracking configurations and OS versions.
• Define feature enablement for new country launches and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate reviews for Legal, Privacy, or Compliance in software releases.
• Support sustaining operations and post-market initiatives across programs.
• Coordinate readiness for Reconditioned Program with Manufacturing, Logistics, and Commercial Ops.
• Serve as cross-functional liaison for third-party partnerships on software compatibility.
• Investigate field escalations and customer inquiries related to system performance.
• Collaborate with international teams for domestic/international software releases.
• Prepare customer-facing materials like field readiness guides and training docs.
• Support end-of-life transitions and CAPA-driven updates.

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Product Mgmt Engineer/Mgr 2 with our client located in Sunnyvale, CA.

Job Description

The Product Management Contractor role is a dynamic entry point into the world of product management offering hands-on experience at the intersection of healthcare technology, operations, and commercialization. Supporting the da Vinci Systems & Software Product Management team, this role acts as the operational engine driving our software launches and sustaining programs. You will serve as the crucial cross-functional link for software deployment tracking, configuration management, and system readiness, while broadly supporting the sustaining efforts across key platforms, third-party partnerships, and post-market initiatives. By mastering these foundational product operations, you will directly ensure our robotic ecosystems remain compliant, updated, and ready for surgery, building a critical skill set for a career in product management.

Job Responsibilities

Launch Logistics & Software Coordination:

• Drive the execution of field software updates by tracking deployment progress across internal dashboards, investigating failed packages, and partnering with Product Support for remediation.
• Monitor system readiness to deploy new software by tracking pre-requisite configurations, verifying correct Operating System versions, and remediating systems with known software or hardware bugs.
• Define and maintain feature enablement to support new country launches and evolving regulatory requirements.
• Manage Configuration Management settings by gathering regional requirements, setting deployment rules, and compiling default values for new software updates.
• Coordinate reviews of software features requiring Legal, Privacy, or Compliance assessment, facilitating the inclusion of approved requirements into software releases.
• Act as the pulse of launch readiness by identifying systems at risk and compiling lists for hardware updates or field configuration fixes.

Sustaining & Commercial Operations:

• Coordinate operational readiness for the Reconditioned Program, partnering with Manufacturing, Logistics, and Commercial Operations to enable system shipments, quoting, and new commercial offerings.
• Serve as a cross-functional liaison for third-party partnerships, coordinating communication on software compatibility, integration projects, and product quality issues.
• Investigate and coordinate rapid responses to field escalations, customer inquiries, and product complaints related to system performance and cosmetic conditions.
• Collaborate with international teams to support domestic and international software releases and market-specific configurations.
• Maintain and approve critical customer-facing materials, including field readiness guides, commercial training documentation, and in-service materials.
• Support post-market sustaining initiatives and projects, including end-of-life (EOL) component transitions and CAPA-driven updates.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, healthcare technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in project management, product operations, software release coordination, or a related operational role.
• Open to motivated professionals across experience levels who thrive in hands-on, tactical execution.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex tracking spreadsheets, operational dashboards, and detailed datasets to monitor launch progress and drive accountability.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration skills, with a track record of driving alignment and clear communication across engineering, product support, regulatory, and commercial teams.
