Job summary

ABB's Traction Division seeks an experienced Local Product Manager to drive long‑term profitable growth of the US traction portfolio. You will collaborate with local sales, global product teams, and engineering to meet customer needs with robust power electronic solutions.

The role requires a strong engineering background, English fluency, and willingness to travel. Hybrid work arrangements across multiple US locations are supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 6–8+ years in industrial environments spanning engineering, R&D and technical sales.
• Solid knowledge of power electronics, variable frequency drives and drive sub-systems; railway/e-mobility experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English; ability to travel across the US and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer requirements and define the optimal technical solution and scope.
• Accountable for customer acquisition and order intake with sales and global product management.
• Hand over won projects to engineering while maintaining ownership of the proposed solution and costs.
• Build and sustain trusted customer relationships with high-quality, timely technical support.
• Identify market trends and opportunities, and suggest portfolio improvements with global PM & R&D.
• Define customer value proposition, ensure clear portfolio positioning, and support marketing activities.
