Job description

Paymentology is the first truly global issuer-processor, providing banks and fintechs with the technology, team, and experience to issue and process Mastercard, Visa, and UnionPay cards across more than 60 countries at scale.

Our advanced, multi-cloud platform, offering shared and dedicated processing instances, a vast global presence, and real-time data, positions us as a leader in payments.

The Product Manager in the Processing space will focus on core card processing functionalities, from switching and authorization to clearing, including APIs used by clients during transactions. This role involves working alongside the Group Product Manager and Product Director to develop our core processing capabilities.

  1. Market Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitors.
    • Analyze data to inform product features and enhancements.
  2. Product Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop a product strategy aligned with Paymentology's goals.
    • Define the product roadmap, including features, milestones, and timelines.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with client-facing, implementation, engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to drive product development.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  4. Feature Prioritisation and Requirements:
    • Define and prioritize product features based on customer feedback and business objectives.
    • Create detailed product requirements and user stories for development teams.
  5. Project Management:
    • Oversee the product development lifecycle from ideation to release.
    • Monitor progress, manage risks, and adjust strategies as needed.
  6. Product Launch and Optimization:
    • Maintain product vision and strategy.
    • Manage technical debt and ensure product sustainability.
    • Define KPIs and ensure product metrics are measurable and observable.
    • Support sales and pre-sales as the primary product expert.
    • Maintain product information in Product board.
    • Plan and execute product launches in collaboration with marketing and sales.
    • Gather and analyze user feedback for continuous improvement.
  7. Performance Tracking and Reporting:
    • Define KPIs and track product success metrics.
    • Prepare reports and presentations on product performance for stakeholders.
  8. Customer Engagement and Support:
    • Engage with customers to gather insights and feedback.
    • Work with support teams to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues.
  9. Industry Awareness and Innovation:
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
    • Identify opportunities for innovation and product enhancement.
Requirements
What it takes to succeed
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana) and product management software.
  • Experience with API-driven products.
  • Experience managing data-centric tools like invoicing data and usage metrics.
  • Knowledge of design principles and UX/UI concepts.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of SQL.
  • Technical core competence.
  • Knowledge of payment scheme standards such as ISO8583 & ISO20022 is valuable.
  • Background in payment processing and card processing is mandatory.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields (preferable but not mandatory).
  • Significant and verifiable employment in similar roles may be considered.
  • Master’s degree or MBA is advantageous.
Years of Experience
  • At least 5 years in product management or related fields.
  • Experience guiding product development through all lifecycle stages.
  • Experience with data-centric tools, dashboards, and automated reports, especially financial and reconciliation reports.
