Why We Need You - The Mission

Founded in 1980, SMA Technologies specializes in automation software and document processing solutions. As we grow, we are looking for a determined and collaborative Product Manager to lead the future of VisualCron, ensuring it delivers measurable value to customers and aligns with broader company objectives.

Objectives – The Problems You’ll Solve

Reporting to the VP of Product, you will be responsible for driving the product roadmap, prioritizing enhancements based on data and user feedback, and collaborating with Engineering, Design, Sales, and Customer Success to execute with clarity and impact. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in technical environments, understands the automation needs of financial institutions, and is eager to shape the next generation of VisualCron. Prior experience in the financial services industry (FIs) is highly valued, particularly familiarity with financial core systems

How You’ll Get There

  • Within Your First 3 Months:
  • Gain a deep understanding of VisualCron—its capabilities, architecture, and market positioning.Meet with key stakeholders, including Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales, to understand business goals, technical constraints, and customer pain points
  • Take ownership of the product backlog, ensuring that requirements are clear, actionable, and prioritized effectively
  • Listen to customers calls to understand and identify pain points and opportunities for improving automation workflows—maybe even conduct a few yourself
  • Align with Engineering on system architecture and product scalability considerations
  • Partner with Marketing to understand messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategies

Within Your First 6 Months:

  • Develop a deep knowledge of the product roadmap, understanding both short-term deliverables and long-term vision
  • Identify and prioritize key automation enhancements based on customer feedback, data insights, and business impact
  • Work with Engineering and Design to improve usability and integration capabilities for customers
  • Establish a regular cadence for assessing product adoption metrics, validating impact, and refining strategy
  • Actively partner with Sales, Customer Success, UX, and Voice of Customer to ensure automation capabilities address real-world customer needs

Within Your First 12 Months:

  • Fully own and execute the long-term roadmap for VisualCron, driving strategic improvements that enhance the product’s market position
  • Deliver measurable improvements in automation efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction
  • Present a forward-looking strategy for expanding automation capabilities and integrations, ensuring the product remains competitive and future-proof
  • Partner with Engineering and Design to introduce new features and enhancements that optimize performance and user experience
  • Become a trusted cross-functional leader, ensuring clear communication and alignment across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales

Competencies – What We’re Looking For

Industry & Technical Expertise: Experience in ecommerce solutions, particularly in understanding operational challenges and automation needs. Knowledge of ecommerce systems, their integration requirements, and how automation can enhance their efficiency is highly valuable. Strong understanding of enterprise automation, workflow orchestration, and system integrations

Strategic & Data-Driven Thinker: Ability to analyze automation trends, customer workflows, and business data to make informed product decisions. Experience using data and customer insights to shape product roadmaps and prioritize feature development

Customer-Centric & Problem-Solver: Experience engaging directly with customers to validate automation use cases and gather feedback. Ability to identify high-impact opportunities and drive solutions that improve user experience and efficiency

Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to work closely with Engineering, Design, Sales, and Customer Success to align priorities and execute effectively. Strong communication skills, able to articulate product vision, roadmap decisions, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences

Execution & Ownership: Highly organized, proactive, and communicative, with a track record of delivering complex product initiatives on time and with impact. Comfortable owning and managing a detailed product backlog while balancing short-term execution with long-term vision.

Adaptability & Growth Mindset: Ability to navigate ambiguity and quickly adapt to shifting priorities. Passion for continuous learning, staying current on automation trends and best practices
