Job summary

North American Rescue is seeking a Product Manager II to own portfolio strategy and drive the full product lifecycle from concept through commercialization.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives, manage external development partners and suppliers, and ensure roadmaps deliver on growth, optimization, and lifecycle objectives with data-driven decisions. This role requires collaboration with operations, engineering, and quality assurance to align requirements with regulatory and market needs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, program management, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience independently leading product development, portfolio management, or cross-functional business initiatives.
  • Experience working with suppliers, contractors, consultants, or external development partners.
  • Experience leading at least one major product launch from concept through commercialization.
  • Knowledge of product development within healthcare, medical device, textile, acute care, or tactical care environments is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success working across cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives and product launches.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Establish product requirements, specifications, claims, and success criteria based on customer, sales, operational, and market needs.
  • Develop business cases and recommendations for new products, product enhancements, and portfolio investments.
  • Serve as the primary owner of project plans, deliverables, schedules, risks, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Lead contractor, supplier, consultant, and development partner selection, engagement, and performance management.
  • Direct prototype development, product evaluations, verification activities, and design refinement to ensure solutions meet defined requirements.
  • Collaborate with QA/RA to ensure product requirements, testing strategies, documentation, and regulatory considerations are incorporated into development plans.
  • Work with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to assess manufacturability, sourcing options, product costs, and implementation strategies.
  • Drive resolution of significant product quality, operational, supplier, and customer issues.
  • Present portfolio performance, project status, business cases, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Influence portfolio prioritization and resource allocation decisions through data-driven analysis, recommendations and stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead product launch readiness activities and ensure Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Customer Solutions teams have the information and materials required for successful commercialization.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, contractors, and key internal stakeholders.
  • Identify emerging customer needs, competitive threats, and market opportunities and translate them into actionable portfolio initiatives.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks while driving accountability across cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

SUMMARY

The Product Manager II owns product portfolio strategy and execution throughout the product lifecycle. This role evaluates portfolio performance and market needs to determine growth, optimization, maintenance, and rationalization strategies. The Product Manager II leads cross-functional initiatives, manages external development partners and suppliers, and is accountable for delivering product roadmap objectives from concept through commercialization and lifecycle management.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

AUTHORITY
  • Analyze customer, market, competitive, operational, and financial information to develop portfolio strategies, business cases, and product roadmaps.
  • Make recommendations regarding product lifecycle decisions, including growth, optimization, maintenance, and rationalization of product lines.
  • Recommend portfolio priorities, project sequencing, and resource allocation to support business objectives.
  • Influence supplier, contractor, and development partner selection based on strategic, technical, and business requirements.
  • This role has no direct reports.
ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Accountable for achieving portfolio objectives through effective product lifecycle planning and execution.
  • Ensure product requirements, claims, specifications, and supporting documentation accurately reflect customer, market, business, and regulatory needs.
  • Drive alignment among cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely execution of strategic portfolio initiatives.
  • Ensure products meet performance, quality, regulatory, and customer expectations throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Monitor and address significant product, supplier, operational, and customer issues to minimize business impact and support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure product-related communications, literature, marketing collateral, and documentation accurately represent approved product information.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, Textile Sciences, or a related technical discipline preferred.

Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, program management, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience independently leading product development, portfolio management, or cross-functional business initiatives.

DEMANDS
Time and Availability
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours each week from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. or some variation thereof
