Splunk, a Cisco company, is building a safer and more resilient digital world with an end-to-end full-stack platform made for a hybrid, multi-cloud world. Leading enterprises use our unified security and observability platform to keep their digital systems secure and reliable. Our customers love our technology, but it's our caring employees that make Splunk stand out as an amazing career destination. No matter where in the world or what level of the organization, we approach our work with kindness. So bring your work experience, problem-solving skills and talent, of course, but also bring your joy, your passion and all the things that make you, you. Come help organizations be their best, while you reach new heights with a team that has your back.

**Role Summary**

In this role, as a Product Manager, Data Platform you will be responsible for building the strategy and roadmap for scaling the core components of Splunk’s search platform. You will accomplish this with your technical understanding of distributed systems, ability to ruthlessly prioritize work items, and ability to communicate effectively with external and internal customers. You will merge attention to technical detail with the ability to understand and align to business imperatives while working hand-in-glove with cross-functional execution teams to drive customer insights and inputs directly into the development process.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are curious about solving complex technical problems and have strong empathy for customers. Your work will impact all Splunk customers and will be a key value driver for our top customers that push our data platform to the limits. Your work will empower customers to manage platform complexity while driving innovation and reliability at scale.

Come join us on this journey to create a scalable hybrid multi-cloud product offering that solves security and observability challenges for our largest customers!

**What you’ll get to do**

+ Own the entire search platform that powers analytics for mission critical applications and customers

+ Engage with customers (internal and external) and field teams to understand product gaps and translate them into clear priorities and roadmap

+ Develop product requirements, user stories, wireframes, and acceptance criteria for proposed enhancements

+ Work with developers and architects to brainstorm solutions and define clear success criterion

+ Establish relationships with customers and internal and external collaborators to collect key user and customer needs and validate potential solutions

+ Collaborate with customers, engineering, UX, PMs, operations, marketing, and field on a regular cadence

**Must-have Qualifications**

+ Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a minimum of 3 years of product management experience and a Bachelor's degree

+ Proven ability in a platform product area and deliver a meaningful outcome for customers

+ Experience interacting with software administrators, cloud operations teams, and technical architects and ability to synthesize clear requirements

+ Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience driving alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

+ A data-driven approach to prioritization and the ability to own a product area

**Nice-to-have Qualifications**

We’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole you.

+ Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems or databases

+ Experience with software development lifecycles, release automation, and certification processes.

+ Passion for solving challenging technical problems and building enterprise products with intuitive user experience
