Position Description

As an Associate Product Manager, you will have an opportunity to join an iconic Milwaukee-based organization in the largest business unit focused on growth. This newly established role will work closely with the Product Manager to execute elements of the product management strategy for gasoline engines.

You Will Do This By

  1. Executing tactical elements of product line strategies, as well as the justification and prioritization of new product development initiatives for assigned products.
  2. Initiating & supporting product development programs within the New Product Development (NPD) Process.
  3. Collaboratively developing multi-year product plans and updating technology roadmaps for innovation planning.
  4. Coordinating with marketing to capture and assess the Voice of Customer (VoC) for new products or product changes and documenting it into a Market Requirements specification.
  5. Providing product knowledge for sales calls, sales literature, and trade shows to answer customer support questions.
  6. Contributing to the development and delivery of product and business strategy presentations.
  7. Maintaining and reporting on project and product portfolio status.
  8. Participating in cost reduction and profit improvement initiatives.
  9. Managing Product Configurations to support customer requirements.
  10. Querying and analyzing business data to support product lifecycle management, identifying areas for growth or consolidation.
  11. Managing new specifications and change requests.
  12. Supporting cross-functional teams (e.g., Compliance, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations) to resolve issues related to product performance or availability.
  13. Performing other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate technical information to diverse groups; sound presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence within and outside the organization.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to build a financial business case and understanding of financial principles including ROI, contribution margin, and EBITDA.
  • Adept at working on cross-functional teams to launch new products.
  • Fluent in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility and/or location.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum two to three years of experience in product management, new product development, manufacturing, marketing, or related fields.
  • Experience with business analysis using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Domo, SAP, or other BI tools is helpful.
  • Three years of experience with global markets is preferred.
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines and/or engine-powered equipment is helpful.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

May require international and domestic travel, planned or urgent.
