Job summary

Timely is seeking an experienced product manager to lead the strategy at the intersection of algorithmic optimization and real-world scheduling. You will work with engineers to shape the optimizer and define the end-to-end user experience for school schedulers.

You will decide which optimizer enhancements to pursue, how to measure impact, and how to explain the results and tradeoffs to customers. The role blends AI, data, and user insight in a fast-growing education technology company.

Qualifications

• Mindset: tackle complex technical problems with a data-driven approach.
• Experience: 4+ years in B2B SaaS product organizations, 3+ years as a Product Manager.
• Skills: data analysis, metric design, AI-enabled SDLC, agile tooling (Jira/Notion/Miro).
• Strengths: collaborative, detail-oriented, strong visual communication.
• Nice-to-have: EdTech background or optimization/domain experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand opportunities to generate better K12 school schedules.
• Dive deep enough into the optimizer technology to facilitate critical decisions with our engineering team.
• Partner with Engineering to surface and refine improvements to the optimizer’s core algorithms, model-builders, and orchestration pipeline.
• Collaborate with engineering to design and execute experiments with metrics (feasibility rate, schedule quality scores, solve time, constraint violations).
• Craft optimizer product requirements and break down into well-defined stories with AI involvement.
• Leverage AI to knit requirements, story definition, and development workflows.
• Develop a vision for how generative AI can improve algorithmic optimization of schedules.
• Own the end-to-end experience of how schedulers interact with the optimizer and communicate results and tradeoffs.
• Drive goal- and metric-setting with Engineering to motivate optimizer squad outcomes.
• Foster a culture of delivering value with milestones, high standards, and impact-focused work.
• Communicate product and technology decisions clearly to stakeholders.
