Job summary

Dorman Products is seeking a Product Manager to own the product road map, develop market strategy, and collaborate with sales and engineering teams. You will define pricing, create compelling content, and drive profitability for assigned product lines across multiple channels.

The role requires cross-functional leadership, strong communication, and the ability to travel ~10% with occasional weekend work. A B.S. in Business and 5+ years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables and VLOOKUP).
  • Willing to travel 10% and occasional weekends.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to reach, swivel, carry between buildings, and listen actively.

Job Summary
Primary Duties
  • Manages APMs and Coordinators
  • Establishes product road map, produce category and customer line reviews and go market strategy
  • Definescategory pricing and add strategies
  • Defines market messages and ensures all marketingcopy, product descriptions, etc. are correct and accurately reflect message and positions
  • Creates and delivers engaging presentations with influence to support selling
  • Sets forecast for newadds
  • Collaborates with customers and Tech Line
  • Attends national tradeshows
  • Proactively follows-up with account managers on a consistentbasic
  • Establishes and drive project priorities
  • Maintains the pulse of the market and competitor landscape
  • Is recognized as a credible, marketplace Subject Matter Expert on the product line
  • Researchesand stay informed of market and technology trends
  • Champions and advocates product lines
  • Supports Sales team through ongoing education, line reviews, and training
  • Creates and sets sample, Operating Income (OI) andNewbudgets for product lines
  • Manages profitability for assigned product line
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred.
  • Prior experience working and leading cross functional teams
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate at all levels of the organization and move projects through the organization with minimal direction
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite and specifically Excel including pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Must be willing to travel 10% of the time and occasional weekend responsibility
  • Physical Requirement:Capability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noiselevel is usually moderate.
Education / Experience
  • B.S. degree in Business or minimum of 5yearswork experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Product Management, Marketing, Product Engineering or Strategic sourcing with a strong focus on new product
