Job summary

Mettler Toledo is seeking a seasoned Product Manager with an engineering focus to steer market-driven product definitions, pricing strategies, and cross-functional collaboration across global teams. You will own technical specifications, datasheets, and service integration, partnering with sales, MOS, and SPG Service to optimize the product portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a focus on Electronics or Mechanical disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a product manager in a similar industry with a successful track record.
  • Market- and customer-oriented mindset, with an affinity for sales and marketing of technical systems and components.
  • Solid understanding of technologies, technology trends, methods, and business processes across different industries.
  • Comfortable working and communicating in a globally networked, multicultural business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Market understanding: analyze market requirements, trends, and customer needs.
  • Competition understanding: evaluate competitor product portfolios and strategies.
  • Product definition: ensure products, accessories, and related services meet market needs and comply with global/local regulations, providing clear value over competitors.
  • Product documentation: own technical specifications and keep datasheets, manuals, certificates, etc. accurate and up-to-date.
  • Product positioning & pricing: define positioning and pricing in collaboration with MOS and the global pricing team.
  • Service: work with SPG Service to define service approaches and related service products.
  • Product marketing: collaborate with marketing to create attractive product marketing and sales tools.
  • Training and support: develop training materials and conduct train-the-trainer sessions for onboarding the support team during product launches.
  • Quality & compliance: coordinate and execute quality assurance tasks, including analysis of data from quality monitoring systems or quality notes.
  • Maintenance of line: ensure continuous attractiveness of products throughout the active lifespan by monitoring and analyzing sales figures.
  • Phase-out: define and execute effective phase-out plans when products reach end-of-life, avoiding portfolio gaps.
