Job description

About The Role

About The Role

The role owns a core product area end-to-end: defining strategy, building the roadmap, and driving execution from discovery through launch. This is a data platform product with APIs, ingestion pipelines, and analytics surfaces used by both internal engineering teams and external customers.

The role sits directly between engineering and business stakeholders - translating ambiguous business problems into prioritized, well-scoped work that engineers can build, and translating technical constraints into tradeoff decisions that leadership can act on.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the product roadmap for a data platform surface area, including quarterly planning, prioritization against engineering capacity, and clear communication of tradeoffs
  • Write product specs, PRDs, and API contracts that are concrete enough for engineers to implement without repeated clarification
  • Drive discovery through customer interviews, usage analytics (SQL, Amplitude or similar), and competitive analysis - then validate with measurable acceptance criteria
  • Partner daily with engineering leads on scope, sequencing, and technical tradeoffs; make calls on build-vs-buy and platform investment questions
  • Define and track success metrics (adoption, retention, query volume, latency SLAs); run experiments and post-launch reviews that feed back into the roadmap
  • Coordinate launches across engineering, sales, and support - including documentation, pricing inputs, and migration plans for existing users
What We Are Looking For
  • 3–6 years of product management experience, ideally on a technical product such as APIs, developer tools, data infrastructure, or B2B platforms
  • Ability to write and execute SQL and to reason about system architecture well enough to challenge engineering tradeoff decisions credibly
  • A track record of shipping: at least 2–3 products or major features taken from 0 to launch with measurable outcomes
  • Strong written communication - specs, one-pagers, and roadmap docs that hold up without you in the room
  • Experience working with distributed engineering teams and running agile planning processes (Jira, sprint rituals, roadmapping tools)
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience building software
  • Bonus: experience with data platforms, ETL, or analytics tooling; technical background as an SWE or in solutions engineering; exposure to enterprise pricing and packaging decisions
