Job summary

Notion is seeking a Growth Data Scientist in San Francisco to apply statistical inference and experimentation to understand the impact of product changes and drive decision-making.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing leaders to shape the Growth roadmap, define north star metrics, and build foundational datasets and dashboards for monitoring progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong experience using SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python or R).
• Ability to design experiments and apply statistical inference.
• Experience transforming raw data into analyzable datasets.
• Comfort with ambiguity and business-result focus.

Responsibilities

• Apply expertise in statistical inference and experimentation to understand product impact and drive decision-making.
• Explore ambiguous areas and identify opportunities for Growth, shaping strategy and roadmap.
• Partner with product, engineering, and marketing leaders throughout development, driving data science and analytics.
• Determine north star and operational metrics, and build dashboards to monitor progress and decisions.
• Effectively communicate findings to influence product and business decisions.
