Job summary

Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to assist with preventive maintenance and repairs of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems across campus.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of vocational or technical training school with training in refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical, mechanical or plumbing.
  • Six months experience in one of the associated trades in the maintenance of plant equipment and systems.
  • Ability to understand and implement oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to perform strenuous work requiring lifting weights up to 50 pounds, crawling, overhead work, kneeling, walking, and being on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Possession of a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

SUPERVISION:

Under immediate supervision of a higher grade Building Engineer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Graduate of a vocational or technical training school with training in: refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical, mechanical or plumbing.
  2. Six months experience in one of the associated trades in the maintenance of plant equipment and systems.
  3. Ability to understand and implement oral and written instructions.

  5. Possession of a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Graduate of standard high school or equivalent.
  2. Twelve months of work experience in one of the associated trades in the maintenance of plant equipment and systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:

Frequent and repeated bending, stooping, and kneeling. Working with arms extended above head. Lifting and carrying loads over fifty pounds Working in very tight areas/cramped enclosures. Climbing ladders, working at heights. Working in extreme weather conditions. Exposure to physically demanding and potentially hazardous tasks. May be designated as an \"essential position\" during emergency closures. May be required to remain on campus overnight during weather or other emergencies.

SALARY RANGE:

Commensurate with education and experience.
