Job summary

Altec in Minnesota is seeking an Associate Engineer intern to perform routine engineering assignments under close supervision. You will use standard operating procedures, basic calculations, and established processes to support design, testing, and development efforts.

With guidance from senior engineers, you will gather and evaluate data, interact with Altec personnel and customer representatives, and develop the skills necessary to become an engineer.

Qualifications

• Student status: enrolled full-time in college/university
• Age requirement: at least 18
• Academic progress: at least 24 hours of coursework or sophomore standing
• Academic performance: minimum GPA 2.8/4.0
• Preference for on-site part-time availability during the school year

Responsibilities

• Use standard operating procedures and basic calculations to complete routine engineering tasks (research, testing, design, development) efficiently and on time.
• Accept guidance from more senior engineers to gather and evaluate data and apply knowledge to assignments.
• Develop initiative to complete tasks with less direct supervision as you progress.
• Interact professionally with Altec personnel and customer representatives to complete projects.
• Build foundational engineering skills through hands-on work and learning.
• Contribute to ongoing projects and grow toward engineering responsibilities.

Education

College/university student enrolled full-time

Must be at least 18 years old

Completed at least 24 hours of coursework or sophomore standing

GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale

Preference for on-site part-time schedule during school year
