Altec is seeking Product Design Engineers to join the Product Development team in St. Joseph, MO. Engineers will design, modify, and deploy product lines, collaborating with Manufacturing and Service teams for ongoing support.

We emphasize hands-on design work, cross-functional teamwork, and adherence to timelines, with travel up to 25% as needed. The company offers a broad benefits package and a long history of industry leadership.

Qualifications

• ABET EAC certified engineering degree is required or in progress.
• Degree completion before start date is required.
• Majors preferred: Mechanical, Agricultural, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for short notice trips, potentially including air travel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design or modify components and systems to meet objectives on time.
• Focus areas: Machine design, Structural design/FEA, 3D modeling, Hydraulic system design.
• Analyze and solve complex design, application, manufacturing, installation and service problems.
• Create novel product designs, potentially patentable.
• Direct engineers and support personnel on design tasks and report findings on competitors.
