Job summary

Altec is seeking an Associate Engineer intern to perform routine engineering tasks using established procedures and basic calculations. You will work with guidance from senior engineers to develop data-driven solutions and grow your technical capabilities in a collaborative environment.

The position emphasizes on-site work, student schedules, and opportunities to engage with customers and internal teams as you gain experience toward becoming a professional engineer.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time in a college or university and in good standing.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have completed a minimum of 24 hours of coursework or have sophomore standing.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
• Preference for on-site with a part-time schedule during the school year.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine engineering assignments using SOPs, processes and basic calculations.
• Show initiative to require less supervision over time.
• Apply procedures to develop solutions with some innovation.
• Gather and evaluate engineering data under guidance from senior engineers.
• Interact professionally with Altec personnel and customer representatives to complete projects.
• Develop skills to become a full engineer.
