Job summary
SMTC Corporation is seeking a Product Engineer to support customer products throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, developing and optimizing processes for quality and efficiency. You will act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams, driving NPI, DFx, and continuous improvement in a high-reliability EMS environment.
You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to implement robust manufacturing solutions, resolve technical challenges,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline required.
- Lean Manufacturing Certification preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
- IPC certifications preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discussions on product requirements and manufacturability.
- Lead NPI activities for successful launches.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Review PCNs/ECNs and ensure correct implementation.
- Identify DFx opportunities to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost.
- Design tooling and fixtures to support production.
- Analyze manufacturing performance data and drive continuous improvement.
- Support PPAP, PFMEA, and related quality documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
- Provide training and guidance to engineers and operators.
